2022 Goal Recap

2022. Apparently, I was so optimistic. The year started with heartbreak and ended with surrender. There was getting fired, there was getting laid off, there was no more car, there was threatened with eviction, there was saying goodbye to Keene. This year was rock bottom, at least god I hope so. Ultimately, I wasn't able to bounce back after the break-up and that sudden financial situation change like I thought I would be. I wanted to take five steps forward but I took two steps back. In short, no, no I didn't accomplish most of the goals I set last January. But I survived. And I did the best I could. And there's still time. Let's get into it.

Big Girl Job

ahahaha fuck. So, I spent the first few months of 2022 basically unemployed (I was working 10 hours a week, making $15 an hour), job searching, and racking up credit card debt to survive. After months of rejection, I finally got a job in April and I was thrilled. It was perfect; hybrid, non-profit, environmental, a little bit of this, a little bit of that. Well... there was also no orientation, no training, no clear set of expectations, no respect or value for Sara, my ideas were dismissed, little organization, poor communication, and I was let go because, they "thought you had more experience when we hired you." nice. I then immediately started job searching again and here we are 6 months later, still working those part time jobs.

No Credit Card Debt

I didn't even have enough money to pay my rent.

Post on Social Media More

Finally, a goal I did achieve. I posted 461 times on TikTok this year. Gained around 200 followers on there. 96 times on Instagram, gained around 300 followers. I went viral on Instagram! 2 million views baby! I started sharing my poetry. And I really just had a lot of fun with it.

Move My Body More

I achieved this one too! I went on many a hot girl walk this year and had so many living room dance parties. But the biggest thing that contributed to me moving more? Having my car shit the bed in August! I walked absolutely everywhere for 4 months :) I promise it wasn't all bad, but hauling laundry 3/4 of a mile is brutal.

Try 10 New Foods

I didn't try any of those foods I listed but I did have Pho and Indian food for the first time!

Volunteer More

I volunteered with Keene Mutual Aid a few more times throughout the year! I am hoping that I can find an organization that I can find to volunteer and connect with here in Nashua too.

Eco-Goals:

Participate in a Beach Clean-Up:

I didn't go to the beach, but I did some neighborhood ones :)

Try Out a Menstrual Cup:

So I couldn't do this. I had to switch my birth control and in April I decided to get a copper IUD! It is recommended not to use a menstrual cup with an IUD because it could suction it out. But, silver lining, an IUD is way more environemtally friendly than the pill. There is so much plastic that comes along with taking the pill and I also no longer had to drive to the pharmacy once every three months to pick it up.

Figure Out a More Sustainable Almond Milk Situation:

This will come with better finances!

Thanks for reading and please wish luck for me in 2023! May 2023 be great to you as well.
