Happy Black History Month! I wanted to take the time to highlight Black-Owned Compost Collection Companies. I hope that maybe, for those that live where these businesses are located, that learning about these companies will be an extra incentive into adopting this sustainable practice into your life. Note: not all of these companies are fully black-owned, some are cooperatively owned or co-owned.
Together We Compost
Located in Columbus, OH.
Together We Compost, owned by Alexander Clemetson, aims to reduce food waste, educate, and build sustainable community resources. Their mission is, "to ensure that members of the BIPOC community are afforded the same access to impactful resources and education opportunities." Their work hopes to spur collective response to the impact of food waste, build resilience, and form collaborative and mutually successful partnerships.
